Job Description
- o carry out triage and a robust mental health assessment, risk assessment followed by a risk management plan on all young people and children referred to CAMHS as well as conducting 5 days follow up on referrals from the crisis team. The suitable candidate must have substantive camhs experience to work in a front door busy service ensuring that referrals are dealt with and processed in a timely manner whilst prioritising any risky cases. They need to be efficient and prompt in responding to any queries and concerns raised as well as well-equipped and resourced in sign posting to relevant services that would be best suited to meet the needs of the young person and their carers. The candidate will be taking part in duty rota , monitor the team inbox for incoming referrals and queries as well as being able to offer advice and guidance for referrals that comes via the hot clinics.
Requirements
- The post holder will be a nurse with appropriate professional or regulatory body (NMC). They will have clinical experience working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental difficulties, they will have significant experience of delivering clinically robust mental health assessment, risk assessment and management plan including mental state examination and a robust formulation of the needs of the young person. Experience in good record keeping and effective interpersonal skills are key in this role as well as ability to work under pressure and meeting the demands of the service. Should the referrals reduce and there is no need for additional staffing in the front door triage and assessment team, there will be an opportunity for the candidate to support a care coordination role to carry a caseload of patients for support, engagement and evaluation of their care. Therefore, experience of care coordination is essential.
