Job Description

  • The Nuclear Medicine department at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Technologist or Radiographer to join our team. The successful applicant may be expected to rotate through all aspects of the department including diagnostic nuclear medicine, radio pharmacy and PET-CT. Experience in all of these areas is desirable but not essential, however the applicant must either be HCPC registered or eligible for the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT). Consideration will also be given to offer this post on a band 5 development opportunity if a suitable applicant does not meet the full specification of the band 6 position. The Nuclear Medicine department is part of the Imaging Directorate at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM). The department consists of a diverse staffing group comprising of technologists and radiographers assistant technologists, nursing staff and integrated radiology and physics support. Such a combination of staff ensures a ready availability of expertise when and where it is required and allow us to perform the full breadth of Nuclear Medicine services including radiopharmacy work and SPECT-CT investigations. To work as a senior nuclear medicine practitioner, actively involved in all aspects of technical work required for imaging, non-imaging, in-vitro counting, therapeutic and radio pharmacy procedures. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within Nuclear Medicine, consisting of admin and clerical staff, technologists, radiographers, nurses, physicists and clinicians.
