Job Description

Psychology posts- these applicants must have EDS experience

  • The post will be based in the newly opened Rehabilitation Unit at Wesham and provide assessment and psychological therapy to service users. The role will also encompass service development, training, supervision, and consultation work with other professionals, as well as working in collaboration with the wider psychology service in the locality.  This post will be advertised substantively and may be an opportunity for potential candidates to have the opportunity to work on the unit whilst this vacancy is pending.
  • The unit provides care to people with long term complex mental health needs. Strong professional leadership sits alongside practitioners being core team members. Psychological therapies and psychologically informed care is valued within the teams and network. The service is also developing a phased model of care, through which we are aiming to offer interventions attuned to service users’ readiness to use psychological approaches. Changes to the delivery of MH rehabilitation at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are being made in line with the NHS Long Term plan, resulting in more investment and opportunity. It is hoped that the postholder will be instrumental in helping represent psychological services in these changes.
  • An interest in working with individuals with complex presentations will be essential, as are skills in working within a multidisciplinary framework. The post will also sit as part of a team of psychologists working within The Fylde Coast area, and the successful applicant will be welcomed as part of a service which will encourage the development of specific interests and will value further career development. It is hoped that the applicant would be keen to undergo further clinical training to develop the therapeutic portfolio of the wider service, in line with their own preferred models.
  • Wesham is an exciting and unique place to work, with its own set of challenges and opportunities that comes with the development of a brand new provision of care.
  • You will be leading the inpatient team of two Assistant Psychologists and will work closely with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist who works across the whole Care Group

Requirements

  • Previous experience of multidisciplinary working and discharge planning within acute inpatient setting, ideally medical and / or older persons
  • Be heavily involved in turning user stories into testable, maintainable and high-quality code. This is a hands-on code design and coding role!
  • Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team delivering our messaging experience to businesses around the world
